Public Domain burn
Already described in detail on the PublicDomainBurn page. It would be quite a lot of work, but the result would be really valuable and, if it got going, it could provide lots of fun and low-barrier opportunities for new volunteers (PD Burn parties, etc.)

Low-intensity lobbying
This would involve writing letters and possibly arranging meetings over small issues like BBC Radio3 offering classical downloads. They'd be easy, we might just succeed, and throughout the whole process we'd have a good opportunity to get a lot of exposure. The wins wouldn't be huge, but they'd be worthwhile in their own right, and more importantly a way to get FCUK moving.

Collecting Societies
Lots of info on the CollectingSocieties page. Lots of hard work, best done by a pan-EU coalition, needs legal expertise. But can we advocate CC and other free licenses if musicians are unable to use them whilst being a member of a collecting society?

Offline / Local Projects
Remix Commons
Set-up a new or get involved with an existing local RC group. Try to promote free culture locally by: encouraging people to share their work on Remix Commons; organising events like gigs, workshops and lectures that have a strong free culture theme; lobbying local MPs and MEPs; networking with existing local arts organisations and persuading them to participate in RemixYourTown. Local Remix Commons projects can be a lot of work, but they are a great way to connect with lots of non-geeky people, to build up a large body of work on the Remix Commons web site that we can refer to to support our arguments, and to potentially find enough local volunteers to start doing some serious free culture politics.
